Books That I am (Finally!) Reading And Some Free Ebooks…..

So, here lately, I’ve been reading a lot of books on my kindle as well as borrowing some from friends, more than I’ve been reading my “review books”. I know, after reading that sentence quite a few of you just paused, thinking something like “Wait! Rayleigh is reading on an electric device?! What is this world coming to?!” Shocking isn’t it? Well, the answer is, I’ve found a ton of books that I’ve been wanting to read for FOREVER, that are available for free (or through NetGalley) that I can get on my kindle. So, no, I have not forsaken physical books, I simply HAVE to read these particular books so I have resorted to the absolute low in the reading world 😦 JK, E-devices are not as bad as all that, but they will never beat the old fashioned, bound, paperback book that can be used for just as much as entertainment as an air-freshener, decor, etc….

Anywho, I know that you are anxious to know what books I am reading in my spare time, so here you are!

The Hunger GamesBout halfway through with this and unimpressed with the author’s writing style as well as all of the droning detail. But the plot and characters are phenomenal! I’m borrowing this from my friend of whom has been badgering me about reading ever since she finished it πŸ˜‰

Clash of EaglesNow, this book practically owns my spare time! Fab-U-Lous! Ever since I saw the cover about a year ago, I’ve gone crazy trying to get my hands on a copy, so you can imagine the happy dance I did when I saw that it was available on NetGalley!

The Sentinels of AndersonvilleThis book was available about a year or so ago on Tyndale and I just barley missed getting it (like by a day) and was so sad. But, I found it free on Amazon for a limited time so downloaded it and hope to start it soon! (As of today, March 9, 2015, Β it is still currently free, but I don’t know for how much longer.)

With Every LetterAfter reading book 3 in this series, as well as some other fabulous books by Sarah, I was really excited when I saw that this too, was free on kindle! (Also, as of today, still currently free, but I don’t know for how much longer)

I don’t like war books do I?! LOL! I just noticed that all of my “spare time books” have war and fighting in them…..

Anyways, as I finish my “spare time books”, I do hope to post reviews for each to let ya’ll know how they are, but, because these are not top priority (I have review deadlines for other books) the reviews may not come as quickly as I would like them too 😦

  1. I’m glad you’ve joined the ebook frenzy! I agree, nothing can replace a physical book, but ebooks are so convenient and sometimes easier to obtain for review.

I look forward to your thoughts on The Sentinels of Andersonville! It made my list of favorites for 2014. I just love the writing style of that one.

    1. Yes ebooks are very convenient! I can take loads of books with me anywhere and have my pick of what to read!

I can’t wait to read The Sentinels of Andersonville! I think I remember reading your review, or maybe it was someone else’s, but it is definitely towards the top of my TBR pile!

  2. I once was kind of against e readers. But then I noticed that you could get books cheaper (not to mention sometimes for free) with them, and I found myself wanting one until I finally got one for Christmas over two years ago. No, it’s no replacement for books that I can hold and hug, but it is nice to have.

I wasn’t overly impressed with “The Hunger Games.” I thought the beginning was slow, not to mention I did not care for some of the content. I did go on to eventually read the whole series, and think that “Mockingjay” was my favorite of them all.

    Happy Reading, Rayleigh! πŸ˜€

    1. Yes it is nice, I can carry my entire library of ebooks with me in a car ride without clutter and that’s pretty amazing!

I’ve heard by so many people that Mockingjay is the worst or most boring one in the series, that’s interesting that you think its the best. Goes to show that everyone has different opinions!

I love hearing from you! Comment below to tell me what you think!
