Book Review: A Heart’s Promise by Colleen Coble

I received this book from the author/publisher for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.

The Synopsis:

At Fort Laramie, soldier Isaac Liddle determines he will court and win Emmie Croftner’s hand. Though courting seems improbable for a woman in her condition, Emmie begins to care deeply for Issac and chafes as Jessica Dubois sets her bonnet for him.

When Jessica learns of Emmie’s secret pregnancy, she blackmails her. With the Sioux Wars raging outside the safety of Fort Laramie, Emmie knows she cannot lose Isaac. But will he reject her—and her child—if he learns the truth?

My Review:

As I’ve stated in the last couple reviews for this novalla series, I have grown weary of the characters as well as the setting. With A Heart’s Promise being book 5 out of 6, I am sad to say that I am extremely ready for the series to be finished with and will probably have to force myself to finish book 6 as I have zero interest in it. I hate that I feel this way about these books because I know that it was Colleen’s first series and that it is more than likely very dear to her heart but I just can’t get into them. I still love Collee’s writing and the covers here are gorgeous, but when it comes to the plot and characters, I would prefer to stay with her newer books.

3 out of 5 stars.
