There are days when I look at my blog posting history from when I first started this blog, 7 years ago, and think, “Wow Rayleigh, you really had no life–to be able to just sit and write that much”! But the truth is that life just gets busy, things change, and honestly, I’ll probably never have the same amount of time to write like I did in high school.
But I’m still here! And occasionally I’ll hit that little well of inspiration or find a nugget of peace and quiet to suddenly appear out of nowhere back onto your screen! So, here I am to confirm that I have not died and in fact, I’d love to tell you all about where I am in life right now.
The clickbait title definitely gave away my biggest news, and no, it was not just clickbait…..I REALLY AM GETTING MARRIED!
My high school sweetheart proposed to me on Christmas Eve on the beach in Florida after 6 years of being best friends and about 3 years of dating. So much in our lives changed during 2018 —with me moving out on my own, him deciding to enlist in the Marines, so so much traveling, college, and other big mile markers that happened in my family— that we decided that taking on life together just seemed right. And I’m all the happier for it!
My writing career (ha! If you could call it that…) has taken a back seat to almost everything and though I still call myself a writer and have not hung up that dream quite yet, I am not actively writing anything currently, and unfortunately, I don’t see myself resuming any of my stories until possibly next year. But that doesn’t mean that you have to wait to hear from me! I’m still reading tons of books and reviewing over on Literature Approved, so if you want to keep in contact, definitely go hunt me down 😉
Life has a crazy, wonderful way of changing everything you thought you knew you wanted and giving you exactly what you truly needed. I am so excited for 2019 and what this year has in store for me and those I love, and though I can’t promise that I will post here more often, I do want to try because I love my blog family ❤
Thank you all so much for sticking around these past 7 years!
Until next time…
